Universal Group of Industries

A Universal Paper Band Filter is widely used in industries where coolant or liquid filtration is critical for machining processes such as grinding, honing, and super finishing. These processes produce fine metal particles, sludge, and abrasive swarf that can contaminate the coolant, diminishing machining efficiency, and potentially damaging tools and workpieces. The systems are custom-designed to meet each customer’s specific requirements, ensuring optimal performance tailored to their application and operational needs. The filtration system is available in a range of sizes, capable of managing flow rates from 30 liters per minute (LPM) to 6000 LPM, depending on the scale and specific operational requirements. For applications requiring temperature control, these systems can also be equipped with chilling units to ensure optimal performance.
How Paper Band Filtration Works:
The contaminated coolant is directly collected into a filter paper (media), where non-ferrous contaminants like grinding grit, stainless steel dust, and brass or aluminum sludge are effectively filtered out. As debris accumulates and saturates the filter paper, the porosity decreases, causing the coolant level to rise. This increase triggers a float switch, activating a geared motor that automatically advances fresh filter paper from the reel. Once the new filter paper is in place, the coolant resumes flowing through the clean media, allowing for continued efficient filtration. As the liquid level stabilizes, the float switch disengages, shutting down the filtration system and completing the cycle.
